Kasti is a place to capture your thoughts and find how they connect. This page explains what happens to your data. Last updated November 1, 2026.
What we collect
- Your account details: your email address and, if you sign in with Google or GitHub, the basic profile those services share, such as your name and picture.
- What you write: the thoughts and notes you save or import, the connections Kasti suggests, and how you respond to them.
- Usage records, such as how many thoughts were processed, so we can run plans and limits.
- Payment status if you subscribe. Stripe handles your card details; we don't see or store them.
How we use it
- To store your thoughts and show them back to you.
- To sort your thoughts into topics, find connections and search them. Passages of your notes are sent to AI providers to do this.
- Every AI request asks for zero data retention, and providers that can't offer it aren't used. That rules out training AI on your notes. Under these terms a provider may still keep limited data for safety checks.
- To sign you in, run your subscription, and keep the service working and within its limits.
- We don't sell your data and we don't show ads.
Who handles it for us
- Clerk: sign-in and accounts.
- Stripe, through Clerk Billing: payments.
- Neon: the database that stores your thoughts.
- Vercel: hosting, and the AI Gateway that routes requests to AI providers.
- AI providers, reached through Vercel: OpenAI models, which may run on Microsoft Azure, and Anthropic models, which may run on Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud. They process passages of your notes.
Your choices
- You can export your thoughts at any time from your You page.
- When you import notes, you pick which ones come in. The rest stay on your device. We don't connect to Apple Notes or any other notes app.
- You can delete any thought from its page. That removes it and its connections, along with any insight based on it. Copies in database backups expire on their own.
- To delete your account and all your thoughts, email berny@webshinobi.com.
- If you connect Kasti to an AI tool over MCP, that tool can read and add thoughts on your behalf until you revoke its access.
